What is Human-in-the-loop?
Human-in-the-loop describes an AI system designed so that a person reviews or approves defined decisions rather than the system acting entirely unattended.

Rather than a binary between manual and autonomous, the loop is placed deliberately: agents handle the confident majority, while low-confidence, high-consequence or adverse cases route to a person with the context already assembled.
Why it matters
It makes automation adoptable in settings where a wrong action carries real cost, and it keeps accountability with an identifiable person — which regulators and insurers generally require.
