What is AI-native retrofit?
An AI-native retrofit adds agentic intelligence to software that is already running, by layering over its existing interfaces rather than rebuilding the system.
Also called: AI retrofit, agentic retrofit, legacy AI modernization
In more detail
The existing application keeps serving users unchanged. Its APIs are exposed as skills an agent can call, intelligence is added above them, and the rollout proceeds in phases that each deliver value independently and can be reversed.
Why it matters
A rewrite means running two systems while the new one relearns years of accumulated edge cases, and most stall halfway. Retrofitting preserves the business logic that already works and delivers value far earlier.
How iLeaf approaches it
This is what Adaptive AI does, in five phases — Assess, Connect, Build, Predict, Scale. For most clients iLeaf wrote the original application and still maintains it, which removes the discovery risk entirely.
